Source:Smooth Lighting Tech Co.,Ltd      Date:2014-12-29

Hanover plans to install 700 LED streetlights by late Spring with a spending of US $365,000, according to a report of Bayshore Broadcast.

Deputy Mayor Selwyn Hicks says the project reduce Hanover’s annual streetlight energy and maintenance budget for 41% to US $123 per fixture.

The project cost is brought down to US $307,000 with a grant from Ontario Power Authority and HST reduction. Rest of the expense is paid with

the money from past year’s Gas Tax revenue.

Michelle Hjort, the Associate Director of RealTerm Energy says LED streetlights will not cause light pollution due to its mono-directional feature.

She adds the LED lights have a clean white light.
